    We found it completely by accident on a day trip to Hiroshima and Miyajima - we came in just looking for some food, not the culinary excellence we received.

    The owner was the only person working at the restaurant when we arrived, but he handled preparing multiple courses for the three of us excellently.

    Every dish was an interesting spin on traditional Japanese or western dishes, but none were ever trying too hard.

    The wagyu and venison might be some of the best we had in Japan (the chef/owner told me his process of preparing the wagyu involves cooking/resting it three times before serving).

    Also, the truffle fries (super cheap) were probably the crispiest, perfect center, and seasoning level that I’ve had in the world. And most importantly, they understood the delicate balance that has to be achieved between potato and truffle flavor. We ordered them 3 times because they were that good.

    This is a place that I will go out of my way to return to on future Japan trip.
